CHC33015  Certificate III in Individual Support – AGEING specialisation

Would you like to be a care worker for the elderly? With a Certificate III in Aged Care qualification you will have the skills and knowledge to work as a personal care assistant providing personal care to the elderly and assisting them with daily living activities.

Upon successful completion of the program, students will be awarded the nationally recognised qualification CHC33015  Certificate III in Individual Support – AGEING specialisation. Course graduates gain the minimum qualification to be able to work in residential facilities that care for the aged such as nursing homes and supported accommodation. This qualification is primarily for work in residential facilities under direct or indirect supervision within clearly defined organizational guidelines and service plans.

Upon successful completion of this course, you may be eligible for one of the following work titles:

Care Assistant / Care Worker / Care Service Employee
Home Care Assistant / In-home Respite Worker / Residential Care Worker
Personal Care Assistant / Personal Care Giver / Personal Care Worker
Community Support Worker / Community Care Worker / Community House Worker
Accommodation Support Worker / Support Worker
Assistant in Nursing / Nursing Assistant

This course consists of 13 units, including 7 core units and 6 electives. The Core units are:

CHCCCS015 Provide individualised support

CHCCCS023 Support independence and well being

CHCCOM005 Communicate and work in health or community services

CHCDIV001 Work with diverse people

CHCLEG001 Work legally and ethically

HLTAAP001 Recognise healthy body systems

HLTWHS002 Follow safe work practices for direct client care

A wide range of elective units is available, including units that train you in culturally aware and respectful practices for working with culturally diverse clients, for instance of Aboriginal descent.

Course charges for each qualification delivered in a Traineeship arrangement will be charged at the prescribed rate of $3.25 per nominal hour commenced, and each unit of competency in each course has a nominal hour allocated to it. Please CLICK HERE   for each unit of competency’s nominal hour allocation and multiply by the prescribed rate, currently at $3.25. Any unit commenced will be charged to the student or employer if engaged in workplace training in compliance of the VET FEES & CHARGES POLICY 2017

Example:   SITXWHS101 Participate in safe work practices   = 15 nominal hours = $48.75

Course charges vary due to the electives selected  and units will be charged once commenced at yearly nominal rate fee.

CHC43015  Certificate IV in AGEING Support

Graduates with the Certificate IV in Ageing Support CHC43015 qualification will be certified to carry out activities related to the maintenance of an aged individual’s well being through personal care and/or other activities of living. They may provide services to individuals with complex needs, and/or work with groups of elderly people.

Graduates from this course will be awarded the nationally recognised Certificate IV in Ageing Support CHC43015. This certification is valid for work primarily in residential facilities within defined organization guidelines and service plans, but the worker may be required to supervise and/or coordinate a limited number of other workers.

Upon successful completion of this course, you may be eligible for one of the following work titles:

Accommodation Support Worker / Residential Care Worker / Personal Care Worker
Care Supervisor / Care Team Leader / Program coordinator – Social Programs
Personal Care Worker / Support Worker
Hostel Supervisor / Assistant Hostel Supervisor

This course consists of 18 units, 15 core units and 3 electives. Core units are:

CHCAGE005 Provide support to people living with dementia

CHCCCS011 Meet personal support needs

CHCCCS023 Support independence and wellbeing

CHCCCS025 Support relationships with carers and families

CHCDIV001 Work with diverse people

CHCPAL001 Deliver care services using a palliative approach

CHCPRP001 Develop and maintain networks and collaborative partnerships
